The facility is owned by the Dallas Corporation and is
operated as a galvanized steel door manufacturing plant. Historically,
' various plant waste materials have been discharged to an onsite SI which
has acted as a settling basin and evaporation pond.
' Closure of the SI is scheduled for the fall of 1987. A closure plan was
i
submitted to the DOHS in December 1986. This work plan presents
information designed to supplement the closure plan. Data obtained during
this study will be used to estimate future excavation amounts.
' Soil samples will be obtained from three locations within the SI.
' Selected soil samples will be assessed for the presence of various
metals. The findings of this study will be utilized during SI closure and
' development of the Hydrogeology Assessment Report (HAR) .
a
i
1
' 51-87-413 2
