Kss/7 GUT
Enclosed is a memorandum summarizing our meeting of 8 July 1987, at which we
discussed the proposed work for completion of the HAR for the 0/LDC surface
impoundment (SI) . Progress toward an acceptable HAR has been made, but several
major areas of disagreement still exist.
As discussed in the meeting, the accuracy of water surface elevation
measurements has not been adequately demonstrated. Several different sets of
wellhead elevations have been reported over the course of monitoring. Since
the possibility exists that the water table gradient has shifted as much as
900, and accurate knowledge of the gradient direction is critical to
determining the adequacy of the monitoring network, please submit a report of
ground water elevation measurements for the period December 1985 to present.
This report shall include the following:
1) All data from site surveys to date, along with a narrative
description of sources of error in each survey.
2) Reference point elevations for monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-3,
and justification for any reference point elevation changes over
the period of monitoring.
3) Depth to water measurement for each well for each monitoring date,
along with a narrative description of measurement technique and
equipment.
4) Static water surface elevation for each well for each monitoring
date.
5) An accurate site map depicting the direction of water table slope
for each monitoring date.
Please submit this report, pursuant to Water Code Section 13267, by 23 July
1987.
