HEALTH AND SAFETY <br /> Kleinfelder on-site personnel were required to adhere to the <br /> health and safety plan developed for the job by Kleinfelder <br /> staff. The plan addressed potential chemical and physical <br /> hazards that could have been encountered during the investigation <br /> and the required protective equipment. A copy of the health and <br /> safety plan is attached in Appendix "A". At the beginning of <br /> each day's field activities, the scope of work for that day and <br /> the safety plan were discussed. <br /> VIII . DISCUSSION <br /> A. Regional Geologic Conditions <br /> The site is located on alluvial fan deposits within the Great <br /> Central Valley and Coast Ranges of California. The Great Central <br /> Valley was formed over an extensive period of time; Pre- <br /> Cretaceous to Recent. Gravels , sands, silts, an clays eroded <br /> from the foothills and mountains of the Coast Ranges and Sierra <br /> Nevadas, filled in a broad structural trough. <br />
