The samples were
collected in appropriate containers supplied by the contract
laboratory. The containers were transported to and from the job
site in sealed ice chests with travel blanks.
As part of the quality assurance program, at least 10% of the
water samples were blind duplicates or field blanks. Blind
duplicates from monitoring well No. 1 were collected and analyzed
for all test parameters. The duplicate samples were identified
numerically such that the contract laboratory did not know the
origin of the samples. The results of the blind duplicates are
compared to the monitoring well No. 1 sample on Tables 6 and 7.
The results of the field blanks are on Table 7.
In comparing the analytical results of the blind duplicates and
monitoring well No. 1 samples, there is good correlation for both
organics and metals . For the field blanks , all the
concentrations were below detection limits except for zinc which
was found at 0.03 mg/ 1 .
The quality assurance protocal for APPL is described In "Quality
Assurance Program for Organics and Inorganic Sections of APPL,
Inc." in Appendix "B".
