). H. KLEINFELDER & ASSOCIATES
File : W-2001-1
January 29, 1986
Page 23
602. The analytical results for metals were below detection
limits for all constituents except arsenic at 0.002 to 0.003
mg/1 , barium at 0.21 mg/1 in monitoring well No. 1 , total
chromium at 0.08 mg/l in monitoring well No. 1, and zinc at
0.02 mg/l in monitoring well No. 1 . All values for metals
analyses were below State drinking water standards except
for total chromium in monitoring well No. 1. The STate
drinking water standard for total chromium is 0.05 mg/1.
The chemical results for samples from monitoring well No. 1
for purgeable hydrocarbons using EPA Method 624 and acid and
base-neutral extractable hydrocarbons using EPA Method 625
were below detection limits.
6 . Information inferred from the major ion analyses indicates
the monitoring wells are completed in the same aquifer. The
results also indicate the ground water around the wells is
of good quality.
7 . The major ion analyses indicate the the downgradient wells
have higher concentrations of major ions than the upgradient
well . This may be an impact the the pond. The
downgradient major ion values do not exceed any State
drinking water standards or action levels. The significance
of the major ion analyses will have to be determined by the
WQCB .
8 . Review of the quality assurance analytical data indicates
good correlation between samples and respective blind
duplicates. The field blanks were below or near detection
limits for all constituents .
9 . Based on water levels measured on December 10 , 1985 , the
uppermost water zone apparently flows in a southeast
direction. The apparent gradient is approximately 20 feet
per mile beneath the study area, which is nearly flat .
