Stockton Metropolitan Airport - 2 - 4 January 2016
5000 S. Airport Way, Stockton
San Joaquin County
3) Soil contamination and strong odor were observed at each of Former Fuel Farm tank removals by the
SJCEHD inspectors. All soil confirmation and subsequent soil investigations sample results are
attached as Table 2. Maximum confirmation soil concentrations in milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg) at
10.5 feet to 18 feet below ground surface (` bgs) are given in Table 3 below.
Maximum Soil Sample Results in milligrams per kilogram (mg/Kg)
UST# 2 6 8 13 23
TVHag 7,400
TPHg 25
TPHd 2,000
Toluene 1,100
Eth (benzene 83
Xylenes 400
EDB 0.41
Pb 8.7
TEPb 27.2
MTBE 12
TVHag Total Volatile Hydrocarbons as aviation gasoline C9—C,s, TPHg Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as gasoline Ca—C12
Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as diesel(jet fuel TPHjp2), EDB ethylene dibromide, Pb total lead, TEPb tetra ethyl lead,
MTBE methyl tert butyl ether
From the data provided tanks 2, 6, 8, 13 and 23 appear to have been the source of the fuel releases
at this Site.
4) Four soil borings (SB-1 to SB-4) were advanced in January 1998. Grab groundwater analytical
results from SB-4 showed the USTs release had impacted groundwater. Four
additional groundwater monitoring wells (MW-4 through MW-8) were installed in June 2007. MW-1,
located near the center of the fuel farm, has historically reported the highest concentrations of
Aviation Gasoline and Benzene. Groundwater samples from MW-4, located down-gradient about
160' north of MW-1 and MW-6, located about 160' northwest of MW-1 have reported no detectable.
Benzene since 2010.
