Former Beacon Station 494 October 8, 1996 <br /> Stockton, California Appendix B Closure Report <br /> are compiled to Table 2 (Groundwater Sample Analytical Results) included within Appendix <br /> C <br /> Quarterly groundwater morntonng and sampling were initiated by AMV <br /> December 1992 AMV drilled six soil borings, converting two to monitoring wells <br /> MW-4 and MW-5 and four to vapor-extraction wells (VEW) VW-1 through VW-4 Each <br /> VEW contained a pair of nested vapor wells identified as "a" and "b" The locations of <br /> these wells are depicted on Figure 2 Laboratory results of soil samples collected and <br /> analyzed from this investigation are depicted on Table 1 (Soil Sample Analytical Results, <br /> Appendix B) The highest concentration of hydrocarbons detected was reported by the <br /> laboratory from the sample collected from VW-1 at 30 feet bsg The laboratory reported <br /> concentrations of TPHg in this sample at 5,400 mg/Kg and benzene at less than the detection <br /> limit of 0 50 mg/Kg Groundwater was found to exist at approximately 75 to 77 feet bsg <br /> with a northwesterly flow direction at the time of this investigation Analytical results of <br /> groundwater samples collected from the new monitoring wells reported the highest <br /> concentrations of TPHg at 860 ug/L and benzene at 40 ug/L in the sample collected from <br /> MW-4 (Table 2 Groundwater Sample Analytical Results, Appendix C) <br /> March 1993 The existing underground storage tanks (USTs) were removed from the site <br /> Three 10,000 gallon capacity USTs had been in use at the site In addition to the USTs, the <br /> product piping was removed USTs and piping were transported to H&H Environmental <br /> Services for proper disposal Soil samples were collected from the base of the UST cavity at <br /> approximately 2 feet below the base of each end of each UST Soil samples were collected <br /> from the piping trenches The approximate locations of the samples collected during this <br /> investigation are depicted on the Soil Sampling Location Map (Figure 3) included widun <br /> Appendix E Soil samples collected from the UST cavity and piping trenches were analyzed <br /> 1494 APB 3 HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL INC <br />
