Subsurface Environmental Investigation November 29 , 1988 <br /> ARCO Service Station 760, Lodi, California AGS 38048-1 <br /> Mehringer Construction were responsible for selection and <br /> placement of backfill. <br /> The sample was collected by the backhoe from the base of the <br /> excavation below the removed tank. A hand-operated percussion <br /> sampler was used to drive a clean brass sample sleeve into the <br /> soil immediately after it was brought to the surface. The sleeve <br /> was removed from the sampler and sealed with aluminum foil, a <br /> plastic cap and airtight tape. It was then labeled and placed in <br /> iced storage. The sample collected was designated S-8-WOT. <br /> The location of the sample within the tank cavity is shown on <br /> Plate P-2. A Chain of Custody Record was initiated by the <br /> geologist and accompanied the sample to the analytical <br /> laboratory. A copy of this record is included in the Appendix to <br /> this report. <br /> ANALYTICAL RESULTS <br /> The sample collected was tested by Mobile Chem Labs, Inc. , of San <br /> Carlos, California, for total petroleum hydrocarbons by <br /> Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) modified Method 8015 <br /> quantified as gasoline and diesel, the volatile organic <br /> 4 <br /> Applied GeoSystems <br />
