Soil Suitability/Nitrate Loading Study Addendum Letter Lange Twins Winery Acampo, California 1rerracon May 21, 2019 Terracon Project No. NA197005 2018 Quarterly Monitoring Reports prepared by Enviro Assessment PC (EAPC) Based on a review of the EAPC Fourth Quarter 2018 Quarterly Monitoring report dated January 29, 2019, the facility is under Waste Discharge Requirements (WDR) Order R5-2006-0088. Three groundwater monitoring wells monitor as follows: MW-1(background water quality), MW-2 (land application area)and MW-3(wastewater pond area). Groundwater monitoring well (MW-3) is located on the site near the northeastern corner of the parcel. Groundwater monitoring wells(MW-1 and MW-2)are located on the adjoining western parcel. During the December 2018 monitoring event, depth to groundwater was reported a(57.11 feet below ground surface (bgs)at MW-3. The groundwater flow direc 9 tion was reported to the southeast. Based on a review of the EAPC report groundwater the monitoring wells have been analyzed for various constituents including Nitrate as Nitrogen (N) since the year 2006. Based on a review of Table 2. Historic Analytical Data, between March 2006 and,�luly 2018 Nitrate as N was reported in the onsite well MW-3 up to 2.7 milligr'ams per liter (mg/L) which is below the Environmental Protection Agency Maximum Contaminant Level of 10 mg/L for Nitrate as N. During the December 2018 monitoring event, elevated levels of Nitrate as N were reported in the offsite groundwater wells MW-1 and MW-2 at 39 mg/L and 14 mg/L respectively. Based on a review of the report,the offsite well MW- 2 is hydrogeologically up gradient to the site and MW-1 is up to cross-gradient relative to the site. Lange Twin Winery septic system review letter dated December 17, 2013 prepared by Alexander Scheflo and Associates Inc. (ASA). Based on a review of the 2013 ASA, the letter prepared for the proposed bottling facility. At the time of the letter the Lange Twin Winery was developed with three buildings. The ASA letter indicated 99.5 fixture units were reported for the facility and three 2,000 gallon septic tanks served the site. The letter u reported 812.5 SF was required for the leach field. ASA reported the leach field consisted of (3) 3 foot x 100 foot long leach lines (900 SF)with (3) 4 foot by 25 foot deep seepage pits (348.5 SF) for a total of 1,248.5 SF leach field area. ASA concluded the existing leachfield exceeded the required leach field area of 812.5 SF Existing Project Information The site currently consists of a 41.38 acre tract of land located at 1525 E. Jahant Road, in Acampo, San Joaquin County, California, APN 003-140-12. The site is zoned AG-40 and is improved with Lange Twins Winery which consists in part of an approximately 45,000 SF bottling warehouse, 1,300 SF office, 24,330 SF warehouse (Building #1), 2,024 SF tasting room, 24,400 SF warehouse, 136 SF truck restroom, scale, 735 SF caretaker house, and wine production Responsive■ Resourceful ■ Reliable 3
