Soil Suitability/Nitrate Loading Study Addendum Letter
Lange Twins Winery r,. Acampo, California Irerracon
May 21, 2019 v Terracon Project No. NA197005
storage tanks. Other improvements include five septic tanks, an 1,248.5 SF leachfield, domestic
groundwater well, four retention ponds, utilities, paved parking and drive areas, landscaping, and
native vegetation. Jahant Slough is located along the northern site boundary. The facility process
wastewater discharges to the existing ponds located on the northern portion of the site and is not
included in this report.
Based on information provided by Mr. Lange, the existing five septic tanks are located near the
truck south restroom, caretaker house, bottling building, building #1 and tasting room. There are
no septic tanks associated with the 1,300 SF office and approximately 24,400 SF warehouse
buildings. Mr. Lange indicated the five septic tanks are connected to a single leach field located
near the northwestern portion of the site. Each septic tank is connected to the leachfield either by
gravity flow or via a lift pump system which enters a force main connected to the leachfield. We
understand the future tasting room stand alone restroom and future administration buildings are
proposed to be connected to the existing leach field. Refer to the Attachments and Exhibit 3- Site
Detail for additional information. The following building and septic information was compiled from
information provided by Mr. Lange.
Table 1.
Building Information.
Building Year Number of Fixtures
Building Size Septic Septic Connection
Number Building ID (Square Tank Tank to Toilet
feet) Installed Size Leachfield Sink Lavoratory (water Urinal Shower
Closet)
Truck South Lift pump
1 Restroom 136 2011 1,500 system to 0 2 2 0 0
force main
Lift pump
2 Caretaker House 735 2014 1,200 system to 1 1 1 0 1
force main
3 Bottling 45,000 2005 2,000 Gravity 5 4 6 2 0
Building Flow
4 Building#1 24,330 2005 2,000 GravityFlow 4 2 3 1 0
Tasting Room
with Lift pump
5 Commercial 2,024 2005 2,000 system to 6 2 2 1 0
force main
Kitchen
Future
6 Tasting Room 400 TBD 2,000 Gravity 0 1 5 0 0
Stand Alone Flow
Restroom
Future Lift pump
7 Administration 11,775 TBD 2,000 system to 3 6 7 2 0
Building force main
Based on the information contained in the Table 1, the existing septic system currently has a
holding capacity of 8,700 gallons.
