Soil Suitability and Nitrate Loading Evaluation Page 6
U of P-Golf Practice Facility Expansion
6301 West Eight Mile Road
Stockton, California
May 13, 2019 CTE Job#25-0711 G
underlain by medium dense silty sand (SM) to the maximum depth explored of
approximately 15.0 togs.
8.0 PERCOLATION TESTING
A percolation testT:2jmas performed on July 31, 2019 within the proposed leach field
area as shown on Figure 2, attached. The field testing was performed under San Joaquin
County EHD "Onsite Wastewater Treatment System Permit" Number SR0080895. The
percolation test was observed by a San Joaquin County EHD inspector and was
performed in general conformance with the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department (EHD Document 42-01-002, revised 4/14/2018). Percolation test data is
presented in Appendix B and a copy of the certified field data is included in Appendix D.
8.1 Percolation Testing Procedure
Upon completion of the 6.0-inch diameter by 36±inch deep percolation test hole drilling,
loose material was removed and a 4-inch diameter open-ended slotted drain pipe was
installed to control potential sidewall caving. Pea gravel was used at the base and annular
space to limit sloughing of the boring walls. Pre-saturation of the soils to be tested was
accomplished by adding water to 12-inches above the base of the test hole 24 hours
preceding the test. After the 24 hour pre-saturation period the 12-inch column of water
had completely "dissipated" from the test hole (P-2). Percolation testing was then
performed immediately by adding water to a level of 6f inches above the top of the 2
inches of gravel placed at the base of the test hole. Recordings were made of the change
(drop) in water level at regular (30 minute) time intervals and water level was refilled
after each interval. Specific details are included on the attached percolation test data
sheets located in Appendix-B.
9.0 NITRATE LOADING CALCULATIONS
Per SJEHD requirements, the following summarizes our nitrate loading calculations for
the proposed leach field. The state drinking water standard for nitrate is 45 milligrams
