Soil Suitability and Nitrate Loading Evaluation Page 5
U of P-Golf Practice Facility Expansion
6301 West Eight Mile Road
Stockton, California
May 13, 2019 CTE Job#25-0711 G
of surface cuttings. Location of the test borings are shown on attached Figure 2,
"Exploration Map." Soil logs describing encountered earth materials are included in
Appendix B. All soil borings were grout backfilled upon completion.
6.0 GROUNDWATER
Groundwater was encountered at approximately 10.2 fee elow V awad_surface (fbgs)
within Boring-1. Water level data in the vicinity (Well #380571N1213745W001 located
approximately 0.6 miles southeast of the site) indicates groundwater to be 5.5 to 19.3 feet
below ground surface as measured between 1981 and 2004. An application for liquid
waste permit at the site dated 9-11-98 indicates groundwater was at 15.0 fbgs at that time.
Based on the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department "Onsite Wastewater
Treatment Systems Local Agency Management Program" document (dated April 2016)
groundwater was at approximately I 0± fbgs in 1999 and slightly above 10 fbgs in 1983.
7.0 SOIL PROFILE
Published (USDA, Soil Survey of San Joaquin County, California, dated May 2019)
mapping indicates soils at the site consist of alluvial soils classified as "Guard clay"
loam. These soils are described as shallow, drained, on 0-2 percent slopes soil on rims of
basin floors. Published geologic mapping--"Geologic Map of the Sacramento
Quadrangle" (CDMG Map Sheet IA, 1981) indicates the site to be underlain by
Quaternary Modesto Formation Upper Member alluvium deposits (Qm1).
Our assessment indicates the site to be generally underlain by soils considered consistent
with those shown on published mapping as described above. Soils encountered within
the percolation test hole (P-2) are described as stiff, brown, damp, silty clay (CL) to 1.0
foot below ground surface (fbgs) and stiff clayey silt (ML) below 1.0 fbgs to the
maximum depth of 3.0 fbgs. Soils encountered within Boring-1 are described as medium
dense silty sand (SM) to 1.5 fbgs, underlain by stiff, low plastic clay (CL) to 5.0 fbgs,
