The Report was prepared for the former Busy
Bee Cleaners (Site) in Lodi and was to provide data in support of a No Further Action
determination (NFA).
Background
E2C submitted a report' showing residual concentrations of PCE in two groundwater monitoring
wells (MW7-BB and EX-1 BB) that exceeded the Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) of 5 ug/L.
In an attempt to reduce the isolated "hot spots" near the wells, E2C conducted an additional
batch pumping event on 5 November 2013. During this event, E2C extracted approximately 560
gallons from MW-7BB and 80 gallons from EX-1 BB. On 12 November 2013, E2C collected
groundwater samples from wells MW-7BB and EX-1 BB. The sample results are shown below:
Pre-Extraction PCE Post Extraction PCE
Well Name Concentration, [Ng/L] Concentration, [pg/L]
21 February 2013 12 November 2013
MW-7BB 10.3 5.1
EX-1 BB 10.2 1.4
The recent groundwater data from wells MW-7BB and EX-1 BB shown above indicate that
residual concentrations of PCE in the groundwater beneath and in the vicinity of the Site are
nearly at or below the MCL. Based on calculations performed by E2C, the residual PCE in
groundwater is predicted to reach the Public Health Goal of 0.06 pg/L in approximately 13
' High-Vacuum Extraction Report of Findings; E2C Remediation, 10 April 2013
KARL E.
