T &T Trucking, Inc.
11396 North Highway 99 • Phone (209) 931.6000
Lodi,California 95240 RECEIVED
September 0 , 19B1 SEP 9 1981
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
PLANNING DEPARTMENT
San Joaquin County Planning Department
1010 E. Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, California 95202
Gentlemen:
It has come to our attention that the present sand and gravel
excavation , located east of Linden on the Calaveras River, is
nearing depletion, and that a new excavation permit application
has been submitted to you. This new application is in the same
general area.
May we respectfully call your attention to the fact that if
a new permit is not granted in this area, the market now served
by the existing excavation would most likely be developed and
served by the Jenny Lind rock plants. This shift could have
adverse effects on building costs in this market area, such as:
1 ) There would be an immediate impact on the delivered
price of aggregate materials to San Joaquin county
jobsites due to the additional distances the materials
must be . transported.
2) As these materials are generally sold "FOB" Plant ,
there would be a loss- of sales tax revenue to the
county as well as the loss of unsecured property
tax revenues on the processing equipment. Loss of
county revenues can lead to reduced county services.
We therefore believe that the granting of a new excavation
permit in this area would be advantageous to the county and that
community.
Veryltruly yours,
Rudy Tbirditi
President
RT/rks
