Ross Purviance, Jr .
P . 0 . Box 628
Linden, CA 95236
Re : Excavation Permit No . EP-81-9
Dear Mr . Purviance :
Recently, I mailed you a copy of the permit compliance status
report prepared by project engineer Lawrence Deimler . The
Planning Commission is scheduled to review this report on
February 18 , 1988 .
One reported noncompliance with a condition is the unauthorized ,
construction of an excavation pond system outside of the approved
excavation site. In view of the fact that the pond system has
been constructed over the intermittent watercourse that provides
natural stormwater drainage to the surrounding foothill area, you
are directed to take immediate action to remove the unauthorized
impoundment and reclaim the area to its natural state . Your
failure to take corrective measures promptly may result in
adverse - possibly irreversible - impacts on the environment :
sedimentation, erosion; flooding, wildlife and vegetation
endangerment , alteration of the local watershed, and restrictions
on downstream land uses .
By this letter , I am notifying other public agencies that may
have regulatory concerns in this matter . I urge you to contact
each agency immediately, and I suggest that you appear to address
this matter before the Planning commission on February 18 , 1988 .
FEB 01
ENFST%SSLTH
E M1ERVCE
ti
