INTRODUCTION <br /> This revised Problem Assessment Report (PAR) for former Exxon <br /> RS 7-1050 has been prepared for Exxon Company, U.S.A. by EA at <br /> the request of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health <br /> Division (SJCEHD) . Section 1 . 1 of this report summarizes the <br /> original PAP. for this site (EA 1989) . Section 1 .2 of this report <br /> presents Exxon's response to comments made by the SJCEHD and the <br /> i California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley <br /> Region (RWQCB), concerning that report. Section 1 .3 describes <br /> the additional investigation Erxon proposes to undertake to <br /> {{� <br /> further define the extent of the contamination at the site. <br /> l <br /> Sections 2 and 3 provide a summary of the subsurface investiga- <br /> tions and groundwa:her monitorinj completed to dtte at the site. <br /> SCOPE <br /> The soil and a,�!oundwater in the subsurface at former Exxon <br /> :- <br /> RS _7-105.6.`-have been investigated for the presence of petoleum . <br /> contamination .since. 1986 On behalf of Exxon Company, U.S.A. , EA <br /> summarized the past investigations.and presented the !results of <br /> new soil and groundwater analyses ina report completed in 'August <br /> 1.989 .(EA `1989) . Soil .data collected by EA 'in. July 1989 and <br /> described in that report demonstrated that petroleum contamina- <br /> tion `is :'-not. present at .elevated levels in the unsaturated zone <br />,. soil beneath the former tank field and the former waste oil tank. <br /> The August 1989 PAR was intended to serve, as a description. and <br /> } <br /> -arialysis of the -additional-soil investigation-that-had .been.- com- <br /> pleted .-by Exxon at the request of the RW12CB, and as a "Final <br /> ?:emedial Plan" for the site.
