2. SUMMARY OF PREVIOUS REPORTS <br /> The following text has been taken from the Report of Investiga- <br /> tion and Final Remedial Plan prepared for Exxon by EA in August <br /> 1989. The text includes descriptions of all data collected since <br /> 1986 by EA and others. The most recent groundwater monitoring <br /> data, those collected between July 1989 and 14 February 1990, <br /> have been added to the report to bring it completely up to date. <br /> 2. 1 LOCATION AND SITE SETTING <br /> r The site is located on the northwest corner of West Hammer Lane <br /> and Lower Sacramento Road, Stockton, California (Figure 3 ) . The <br /> tanks, pump islands, associated piping, and buildings were all <br /> removed in early 1986 after the fuel lines failed a tightness . <br /> i test. The dirt surface of the backfilled1excav;t,tion has been <br /> � <br /> graded. The concrete buildinglandscaping,g - slabs, and much of <br /> t the asphalt pavement remain intact. <br /> e <br /> The site is now being rented as a vacant lot for seasonal busi- <br /> ness such as Christmastrees and pumpkin patches by .Tim Ambrose <br /> Enterprises in Stockton. <br /> The site to i.s not secured:by..a fence, and a ,significant...amount.- of <br /> vehicle traffic"crosses the site to gain access from Hammer Lane <br /> ` to the shops behind the site. <br /> Land use. in "the immediate area is primarily .commercial:(Figure ; <br /> - <br /> 4) --A Shell service -station -with" active-underground tanks -lies <br /> across SacramentoRoad to the east'; a,. retail shopping=center <br /> :, surrounds' the back side of the former station tothe north and <br /> ;. <br /> west. <br /> The site of a former Knowles ;service station.is"'approximately 200 <br /> yards west-southwest of Exxon RS 7-10.50 :on the southwest.:corner <br /> e35/71050/2--90/tx 14 <br /> + - - <br />
