PI--nialI/SERVICES
2300 Clayton Rd. , Suite 1250
Concord, CA 94520
SUBJECT: Vacuum Extraction System
Exxon Station RS #7-1050,
Stockton, California
Dear Ms. Guensler:
The system air stream and individual vapor extraction points were
monitored 13 February and 28 February 1992. The results are presented
in the attached monitoring summary for your review. Also enclosed are
copies of the laboratory analyses.
. The system shut down 10 January 1992 due to mechanical failure. The
required parts were installed and the system was restarted 12 February
1992. In order to further validate the data obtained in the field, an
air bag sample obtained from MW-3 was analyzed in-house. The air bag
sample was found to have a concentration of 223 ppm of TPH. This is
comparable to the 280 ppm detected by the portable FID used in the
field.
The system operated 37 days from 11 December 1991 through 28 February
1992. Between 8 March and 28 February 1992, approximately 1,471 pounds
of hydrocarbons and 60 pounds of benzene have been removed from the
soil .
A copy of the letter summarizing my discussion with Mr. Ali Mohammad of
the San Joaquin Valley Unified Air District (SJVUAD) has been enclosed
for your review.
Please do not hesitate to call if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
EVAX Technologies, Inc.
5ha_9_0 (S7e_
rVq
Shaw Garakani
Project Engineer
. cc: Mr. Harlin Knoll , San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department
