1 ADDh TONAL INFORMATION REQUIREftgNTS
CITY OF TRACY DEMONSTRATION ASR WELL PROJECT
TRACY, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
1) Provide a summary description of the project including the anticipated duration and rate of
injection and extraction activities. Describe how the water will be transported and stored prior
to injection into the well or after extraction from the well.
2) Describe the site location, the topography, and nearby industrial or populated areas. Provide a
site map that shows property lines, buildings, treatment or storage ponds, land application areas,
and surface water drainage courses within 1,000 feet of the site.
3) Provide a description of the project area hydrogeology including boring logs, well construction
diagrams, geophysical logs, and cross-sections. Include a discussion of aquifers located above
and below the target injection zone including a description of the extent of identified aquitards.
4) Provide a description of the anticipated groundwater mound that will result from injection, and
the capture zone that will be created by extraction. Will the extraction occur long enough to
remove all the injected water?
5) Provide a description of the source water treatment and how the waste streams from that
treatment are disposed. The description must include a list of all chemical additives used in the
treatment. Describe the daily and seasonal variation in source water quality.
6) If the source water treatment system results in residual contaminants (such as trihalomethane
compounds) describe how they will be removed prior to injection or why the compounds should
be allowed to exist in the injected water. The explanation must be consistent with the State
Water Resources Control Board's Antidegradation Policy.
7) Provide a description and a table summarizing the analytical data available for the source water,
treated water(ready for injection), and target aquifer water quality. The description must
include a discussion of the presence of dissolved solids (both total and individual analytes),
chlorine, trihalomethanes, haloacetic acids, pesticides, herbicides, and pharmaceuticals.
8) Do active or abandoned industrial, agricultural, domestic, or groundwater wells exist on the
property or the wastewater disposal area(s)? Describe how the existence of such wells was
determined. If such wells exist, provide a map showing their location(s) and describe how their
presence will affect the Demonstration ASR Project. Can such wells act as conduits to other
aquifers?
9) If surface impoundments will be used to store source water treatment waste, provide diagrams
and a description of the planned impoundment, construction materials, depth to groundwater
below the bottom of the pond, and existing or planned groundwater monitoring wells.
10) Before the Board can adopt WDRs for this discharge, the requirements of the California
Environmental Quality Act(CEQA)must be complied with. Provide the CEQA document for
this facility.
VAS n 10p N PSuf mnTlSan Ja wmTh ASRWJn 22 D Olds
