QUARTAROLI & ASSOCIATES
LAND SURVEYING • LAND PLANNING
RECEIVED
June 19, 2019 JUN 2 1 2019 Job No 2019-27
San Joaquin County ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
Environmental Health Department I)I:PAR"ITIENT
1868 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, CA 95205
Attn.: Linda Turkatte, Director
Re: Discussion of Previous Nitrate Loading Study & Current Use Numbers
American Crane, Inc.
17800 South Comconex Road
Manteca, CA 95336
APN 208-180-23
Use Permit Application PA-1900030 (UP)
Dear Ms. Turkatte,
As per our phone conversation on 6/18/19 please review the attached document
prepared by Live Oak Geo Environmental, Inc. on "Plan Check — 2 Hour Basis". The
purpose of this review is to establish that the current project as proposed on PA-00030 is
less impactful than as described in the approved Soil Suitability/Nitrate Loading Study
prepared by Provost & Pritchard, dated July 16, 2012.
Based on the method and assumptions described, the result of the nitrate loading
estimate indicates that the existing and proposed development on the Site should not
cause a buildup of nitrate in the aquifer above 10 mg/L-N.
Furthermore, a side-by-side comparison of the numbers utilized in the current and 2012
calculations shows that the conditions have improved since the original report was
written: 8.42 acres area in 2012 versus 11.80 acres currently, 33 or 38 employees in
2012 versus 30 on-site employees currently, a calculated 345.8 gpd wastewater flow in
2012 versus 221.4 gpd currently.
Based on the increase in acreage and the decrease in calculated wastewater generated
since the 2012 report, combined with the favorable result on the nitrate loading
calculation using the current methodology, there appears to be no need for completion of
a full, new Soil Suitability/Nitrate Loading Study.
Sincerely,
J Glick
Quartaroli&Associates, Inc. 2019 All rights reserved
310 Sun West Place Suite A • Manteca, California • 95337 • 209/239-4908 • Fax 209/239-6235
