SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY <br /> Introduction <br /> Live Oak GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (Live Oak) was contracted by Joe Bavaro of Bavaro <br /> Farming Company to conduct a Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study for the <br /> property located at 19401 South Dahlin Avenue, Escalon, California (Plate 1). <br /> The Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study are combined under this report <br /> cover and presented as two sections of this report. The formatting of the report has <br /> been designed to follow the recommendations of the San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department as described in its Soil Suitability Study <br /> Requirements Checklist and Nitrate Loading Study Requirements Checklist. <br /> The Soil Suitability Study was conducted to determine whether the soils are suitable for <br /> use with a septic system. The study was performed according to the requirements of <br /> Section 9-1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County Development code. <br /> Proposed Development <br /> Mr. Bavaro proposes to subdivide the Site into two new parcels for financing purposes <br /> (Plate 2). No changes to the use of the Site are anticipated. The San Joaquin County <br /> project number is PA-1800194. <br /> Site Description <br /> The Site consists of Assessor's Parcel Numbers (APNs) 247-130-34 and -35, totaling <br /> 31.15 acres. It is located at 19401 South Dahlin Avenue, Escalon, California. <br /> The Site is an almond orchard with a new single-family residence. A domestic well <br /> provides water to the house, and an irrigation well supplies the orchard (Plate 3). <br /> The elevation of the Site, according to a United States Geological Survey topographic <br /> map, is approximately 105 feet above mean sea level. The Site is relatively flat (Plate <br /> 4). <br /> According to the San Joaquin County Community Development Department <br /> (www.co.san-joaquin.ca.us), the subject property is zoned AG-40, General Agriculture <br /> with a minimum parcel size of 40 acres. This zoning designation "is established to <br /> preserve agricultural lands for the continuation of commercial agriculture enterprises." <br /> LOGE 1907 Page 1 <br />
