k4 KLEINFELDER -5 HISTORY OF THE SITE Kleinfelder researches several sources for historical land use information. The purpose of the research is to provide general land use history for the last 50 years using aerial photographs, interviews, Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps, City Directories and title information (if provided by client). The following describes the information revealed by the sources. 5.1 AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHY A review of historical aerial photographs may indicate past activities at a property that may not be documented by other means, or observed during a property visit. The effectiveness of this technique depends on the scale and quality of the photographs and the available coverage. Kleinfelder reviewed available aerial photographs at the San Joaquin County Public Works and Kleinfelder archives. The aerial photographs reviewed for the assessment are described below in Table 4. 'There is a single structure located in the northwest corner of the site in the 1963 aerial photograph. In the aerial photographs dated 1975 and 1983 the northern one-third of the site is a cleared dirt area. There are no structures present in this area. There is a drive path trending north/south across the site. Along the southern border there is an irrigation ditch present. The remaining areas of the site are row crops. In the aerial photographs dated 1990 the northern one-third of the site is a dirt lot with three structures present in this area.
