k'g KLEINFELDER <br /> Surrounding Areas <br /> The site is bordered to the north by Carter Road and beyond the road is a fallow agricultural field <br /> in the aerial photographs dated 1937 through 1963. In the 1952 aerial photograph there is a large <br /> circular object present adjacent to the northwest corner of the site, this object appears to be a <br /> water tank. There are no other structures present near the water tank. In the aerial photographs <br /> dated 1975 through 1990, the adjacent property to the north is an area with multiple structures <br /> present. <br /> Adjacent to the south and to the east of the site of the subject site are row crops and a vacant <br /> fields. There are no structures present throughout the years reviewed. <br /> Adjacent to the west of the subject site is Escalon-Bellota Road is row crops and rural residences <br /> scattered throughout the area in all photos reviewed. <br /> Note: Aerial photographs only provide a surface view of land uses and changes in development <br /> over time, and no conclusions can be drawn from photographs alone. However, Kleinfelder's <br /> review of available aerial photographs did not reveal obvious signs of dumping, spilling, leaking, <br /> or disposal of hazardous materials or wastes on site. <br /> 5.2 SANBORN FIRE INSURANCE MAPS <br /> Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps provide historical land use information for some metropolitan and <br /> small established towns. Kleinfelder, Inc. requested a search of Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps by <br /> EDR. Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps of the Escalon area did not include the subject site <br /> according to EDR's research. <br /> 5.3 CITY OR SUBURBAN DIRECTORIES <br /> Polk City Directories and Haines Criss-Cross Directories provide information regarding property <br /> occupants by address. Haines Criss-Cross Directories for San Joaquin County were reviewed for <br /> the period beginning in 1971 through 1995. There were no listings for the address of the subject <br /> site. The Polk City Directory was reviewed for the period beginning in 1970 through 1996, the <br /> county library's most current holding. There were no listings for the address of the subject site. <br /> 5.4 INTERVIEW <br /> An interview was conducted with Mr. George Tevelde, Jr.. property owner. Mr. Tevelde has <br /> owned the property since 1991. Mr. Tevelde stated that there are no underground storage tanks <br /> present on the subject site today or in the past. The northeast corner of the site is being used as a <br /> dairy. Operations at the dairy begun February 1, 1994 and the structures were built at this time. <br /> The aboveground storage tanks (AST) on site each have containment basins. Mr. Tevelde stated <br /> that there has never been any large spills or leaks from the AST's.
