Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
Re: Work Plan: Site Investigation
415 North Main Street
Manteca,California
Dear Dr Khanna:
ACC Environmental Consultants,Inc. (ACC) is pleased to present a work plan for a
Phase II Subsurface Investigation at 415 North Main Street in Manteca, California
(Figure 1).
The purpose of this investigation is to evaluate shallow soil and groundwater conditions
by drilling 8 to 16 soil borings and collecting soil and if possible, groundwater samples.
SITE HISTORY
A Phase I Environmental Site Assessment was performed by Berlogar Geotechnical
Consultants (BGC) of Stockton, California in May, 1991. The BGC report concludes
that the Robo City Car Wash which formerly occupied the site, reportedly maintained
underground fuel tanks for gasoline storage. These tanks were reportedly removed prior
to construction of the existing building, according to the BGC report. However, there is
no record of an investigation of potential soil or groundwater contamination or any clean-
up during the removal of the tanks. In addition, several leaking fuel tanks have resulted
in contaminated groundwater at sites near the subject property.
SITE DESCRIPTION
The project site consists of a one-half acre parcel presently occupied by a commercial
development known as the Manteca Business Center. The site is surrounded by mixed
residential and commercial developments near the center of downtown Manteca(BGC
report; May 28, 1991).
SITE PLAN
A site plan map is attached that indicates the locations of the proposed soil borings
monitor well (Figure 2).
1000 Atlantic Avenue, Suite 110 -Alameda,CA 94501 •(415)522-8188 •FAX: (415)865-5731
