Prework Safety Equipment Checklist' <br /> Before leaving for the jobsite, verify that these safety supplies are in your vehicle and that <br /> they are in good, usable condition. After verification, sign and date where indicated and <br /> turn the form into the field service coordinator before leatzing the plant. <br /> 1 . External Tank Applications: <br /> ❑ Personal Protective Equipment— Maintain in a clean and sanitary condition. <br /> ❑ Reflective Safety Vests ❑ Hard Hats <br /> ❑ Steel-toed Shoes ❑ Safety Glasses with Side Shields <br /> ❑ Gloves—Chemical-resistant and Leather ❑ Coveralls <br /> ❑ Ear Plugs or Muffs ❑ Goggles and Face Shields <br /> ❑ Organic Vapor Cartridge Respirators ❑ Dust Masks <br /> ❑ Combustible-Gas Indicator and Oxygen Monitor— Before leaving for a jobsite, <br /> calibrate this equipment to ensure it is working properly. Calibration should be done <br /> prior to use each day. Record calibration results on a calibration log. Follow the <br /> manufacturer's calibration instructions. You must have extra unopened oxygen and <br /> combustible gas sensors in your vehicle for replacement if necessary. <br /> ❑ Air-Moving Equipment— If you may need to remove vapors from a tank before <br /> working on the interior or exterior, include a venturi with a minimum total airflow rating <br /> of 1,500 CFM. You must also have an extension to exhaust air a minimum of 12 feet <br /> above grade. Make sure that the customer will be supplying an air compressor suitable <br /> for your needs (typically rated for a minimum of 100 PSI). <br /> ❑ Work-Area Protection — Have enough equipment to adequately provide a safe work <br /> zone to protect you and the crew. Equipment includes high-visibility cones, barricades, <br /> safety tape and flags. This is in addition to the equipment the customer/contractor may <br /> provide. Refer to Appendix G for additional information on the Work-Area Protection. <br /> ❑ Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) —You must have an up-to-date MSDS for all <br /> chemical products carried on your vehicle. Store the MSDS's in a labeled binder and <br /> keep the binder accessible at all times. <br /> ❑ Incident Report— In the event you are involved in a vehicle accident or an on-the-job <br /> injury, make sure you have Xerxes-provided reports in your vehicle (such as the glove <br /> compartment) and they are easily accessible at all times. <br /> ❑ Fire Extinguisher— Check to make sure that there is at least one fire extinguisher in <br /> the vehicle.
