• Document release on the Spill Log and place behind the <br /> Spill Log tab in the Orange Binder. <br /> WARNING: DO NOT FOR ANY REASON ATTEMPT TO OVERRIDE <br /> OR CHANGE PROGRAMMING FOR THE UST ALARM. <br /> TAMPERING WITH THE MONITORING SYSTEM IS <br /> CONSIDERED A CRIMINAL VIOLATION. <br /> 2.0 Hose Pull Procedure and Dispenser Damage <br /> 2.1 Hose Pull Procedure <br /> 2.1.1 Perform a visual inspection of the dispenser to determine if <br /> there are any leaks caused by a hose pull from a vehicle <br /> drive-off. <br /> Stop any leaks by opening the dispenser and <br /> tripping the impact valve. If unable to trip impact <br /> valve, shut down dispenser and turbine pumps <br /> that feed the dispenser at emergency shut-off <br /> switch or main electrical panel. <br /> 2.1.2 If a spill occurred, determine if it is Minor or Major. Spill is a <br /> Minor Spill if it is contained onsite and manageable by onsite <br /> personnel. <br /> o Shut down turbine/pump at emergency shut-off <br /> switch or main electrical panel, if necessary. <br /> o Instruct customers to move out of the area and <br /> restrict access to the area using delineator <br /> poles. <br /> o Place absorbent on the spill to prevent product <br /> from migrating to other areas. <br /> o Sweep up used absorbent and place in <br /> hazardous solid waste drum. Ensure that <br /> waste drum is properly labeled and secure. <br /> o Report spill by phone to Elite Customer <br /> Solutions. <br /> o Notify Site Manager. <br /> o Document the release on the Spill Log and <br /> place behind the Spill Log tab in the Orange <br /> Binder. <br /> 2.1.3 Spill is a Major Spill if it is goes offsite, into a catch basin or <br /> waterway, or is not manageable by onsite personnel. <br /> September 2007 Page 3 of 5 520—Release Response & Reporting <br />
