Well Locations
Examination of records contained at the Department of
the presence of any reported wells within 500 eet of the site.ater Resources did not reveal
Locations of Utilities
The attached map shows the known locations of gas, sewer, and lines within 800 fee
of the site. t
Soil-Gas Survey
The soil-gas survey will be conducted under permit and inspection from your office. Due to
the small diameter of the soil-gas probe holes, we intend to experiment with backfillin
options (bentonite/cement slurry, bentonite pellets; etc.) under your supervision. Some of
the originally proposed soil-gas locations (those around Building 1417) may need to be
moved to stay on Sante Fe Pacific Realty's property.
Monitoring Well Installation
One of the three. proposed monitoring well will be installed in a soil boring that is
continuously cored to provide good lithologic control. The boring°will be drilled using
hollow-stem augers and a 5-foot continuous core barrel. The core barrel will be
decontaminated with a trisodium phosphate wash and distilled;'water rinse prior to each
run. After-each 5-foot run, the core barrel will be removed from the borinand opened.
An experienced environmental geologist will log the, observed soils.using the Unified Soil
Classification System USCS .
Lead
The lead concentration reported in the soil sample from the tank;excavation is in the range
of expected lead concentrations for valley sediments. .The'lead concentration detected in
the water sample may not accurately reflect the dissolved lead concentrations if the water
sample was not filtered at the time of collection. The tank'`repot.1tedly contained unleaded
gasoline. EDB (a constituent of regular gasoline) was not detected in the soil or water ?
sample collected. Water samples from the three wells will: be analyzed for lead to assess
whether dissolved lead exists in the ground water at the site, fbut the soil samples will not be
analyzed for lead at this time. 3
We hope that this information satisfies your requirements. We intend to-expedite this
project as soon as you issue the necessary boring permits. .Please do not hesitate to contact
- . us if you have further questions.
i
Sincerely,
KJX4WLDER, INC.
CV
,epee D.
