SAN JOAQUIN FARM BUREAU FEDERATION
20 MEETING TODAY'S PROBLEMS/PLANNING FOR TOMORROW
August 30, 2000
Lolr'4''% 1?000
Jim Van Vuren
San Joaquin County Community Development Department
Development Services Division
1810 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, CA 95205
Dear Mr. Van Vuren,
The San Joaquin Farm Bureau Federation has reviewed application referral VR-00-, a variance
application to reduce to a minimum lot size in the AG-40 zone from 40 acres to 1.80 acres and the
minimum lot width from 330-feet to 242-feet, to permit a minor subdivision application.
The San Joaquin Farm Bureau Federation opposes this variance. This variance would create
substandard parcels in San Joaquin County that would allow property less than 40 acres in the
AG-40 zone. This variance would encourage a growth-inducing effect on agricultural zoned
parcels. The San Joaquin Farm Bureau Federation policy and San Joaquin County General Plan
acknowledgement of agriculture zones is to protect the current zone allowances.
The San Joaquin Farm Bureau Federation strongly recommends this variance application be denied.
Sincerely,
L
Matthew Terra
Program Director
POST OFFICE BOX 8444 • 3290 NORTH AD ART WAY • (209) 931-4931 • STOCKTON, CA 95208
