10 INTRODUCTION <br /> This Site Closure Report (Closure Report) has been prepared for the two <br /> former underground fuel storage tank (UST) sites on Catellus <br />' Development Corporation (Catellus) property at the western extreme of <br /> West Weber Avenue in Stockton, California (Figure 1) On behalf of <br /> Catellus, Environmental Resources Management (ERM) has discussed site <br /> 1 closure with the County Public Health Services/Environmental Health <br /> Division (PHS/EHD) The report has been prepared to summarize the <br />' data required by PHS/EHD for closure of UST sites <br /> This Closure Report addresses two specific site locations at the following <br />' addresses on the West Weber property (Figure 2) <br /> • 1515 West Weber Avenue (Former Tank Site #1), and <br /> • 1325 West Weber Avenue (Former Tank Site #2) <br /> USTs were removed from both sites and releases of petroleum products <br /> ifrom the USTs were detected The extent of the constituents in soil and <br /> ground water was characterized at both sates In October 1993, total <br /> petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH) impacted soils were excavated and <br /> remediated at both the Farmer Tank #1 and Former Tank #2 sites <br /> Excavation activities proceeded until prevailing site conditions (e g, the <br /> presence of the buildings and encounter with ground water) prevented <br /> further excavation Ground water extraction events were also conducted <br /> in areas of elevated petroleum product occurrence Ongoing ground <br /> water monitoring indicates that residual levels of petroleum products on <br /> site do not pose a threat to ground water quality <br /> 1 1 DOCUMENT ORGANIZATION <br /> This Closure Report is divided into seven sections followed by tables, <br /> figures, and three appendices Section 1 provides general site <br />' background Sections 2 and 3 provide the details of the investigations <br /> completed at Former Tank Site #1 and #2,respectively A discussion of <br /> the technology used for soil and ground water remediation is included as <br /> Section 4 Section 5 discusses the risk and future beneficial uses of the <br /> sates Well abandonment is discussed in Section 6, and references cited in <br /> the report are included in Section 7 <br /> Three appendices are attached to this report Appendix A contains the <br /> PHS/EHD checklist for site closure, which is consistent with the <br /> ERM 5 CA rELLUS/2996 10-10/13/99 <br />
