July 1,2002 <br /> NOA ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT NUMBER LE02-164 <br /> NOA's opinion on the chemicals used on the subject property is as follows. <br /> • Methyl Bromide(found in Ameribrom)was used on the property according to the 1998 and <br /> 1999 use reports. Methyl Bromide is a highly toxic compound and is persistent to the point <br /> that its half life in the soil is thirty (30) to sixty (60) days. This chemical's use could be a <br /> recognized environmental condition on the subject property. <br /> • Paraquat Dichloride(found in Gramoxone)is a highly toxic compound with a half life of one <br /> thousand (1,000) days. According to the use reports, this chemical was applied to the <br /> property in 1997 and 1999. This chemical's use could be a recognized environmental <br /> condition on the subject property. <br /> • Glyphosate(found in Round- Up)is a moderately toxic compound with a half life of one(1) <br /> to one hundred seventy-four (174) days. According to the use reports, this chemical was <br /> applied to the subject property during the period of 1997 - 2002. This chemical's use could <br /> be a recognized environmental condition on the subject property. <br /> • Chloropyrifos (found in Lorsban) is a moderately toxic compound with a half-life in soil <br /> usually between 60 to 120 days,but can range from 2 weeks to over one year, depending on <br /> soil type, climate, and other conditions. According to the use reports, this chemical was <br /> applied to the subject property during the years of 1997, 1999 and 2000. This chemical's use <br /> could be a recognized environmental condition on the subject property. <br /> • Propargite (found in Omite) is listed as a probable carcinogen and was given a re-entry <br /> interval due to its high causal rate of dermatitis. This compound was listed as being applied <br /> to the property in the period spanning 1997- 1999. This chemical's use could be a recognized <br /> environmental condition on the subject property. <br /> 6. Water Supply and Sewage Disposal System <br /> The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division was contacted in an effort to obtain copies <br /> of permits for any water wells or septic tanks on the subject property. The Environmental Health <br /> Division could not find any records for water wells or septic tanks on the subject property, however, <br /> it was noted that this did not mean they do not exist. <br /> 7. San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District <br /> The San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District (SJVUAPCD) was contacted in an <br /> effort to obtain information as to whether any agricultural burn permits have been issued for the <br /> subject property.
