July 1,2002
NOA ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT NUMBER LE02-164
Photograph 7). Next to this old infrastructure there was a skeet launcher used for shotgun
marksmanship, apparently aimed out over the orchard(see Photograph 8). Next to the road that runs
through the subject property, just inside a row of trees, there are some discarded pipes and fencing
materials (see Photograph 9). On the east side of the residence, there is a fenced area containing
goats and other small farm animals(see Photograph 10). On the west side of the unattached garage
there is a dismantled car and various parts that are consistent with its presence(see Photographs 11,
12). The gas tank is still attached to the car, however, the cap on the fill pipe is missing. Therefore,
any liquid contained within the tank has,probably,long-since evaporated(see Photograph 13). Along
E. West Ripon Road,on the subject property there are several examples of trash. For instance, there
are discarded drinking containers, a box that at one time had contained a safe and a plastic tail-light
cover, probably the remnants of a traffic accident (see Photographs 14 - 16). There is one small
crushed container that had held an unknown substance between two rows of the orchard (see
Photograph 17). Furthermore, there is a large pesticide container on the road that runs through the
property, however, it was well beyond the borders of this investigation. At the time of the site
reconnaissance, between the rows of trees there were large amounts of grasses and weeds, suggesting
that herbicides had not been used on a regular basis(see Photographs 18, 19). One uprooted tree was
apparent (see Photograph 20).
13
