Results Report for Limited Subsurface Investigation _
I Third Quarter 2000 Groundwater Monitoring Report
Moore Petroleum Bulk Plant,5491 F Street, Banta,California r
µ CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS ^ .
Based on the soil analytical laboratory data for boring SB-Deep, MTBE has been defined
vertically at the site: The vertical extent of MTBE-in the source area is defined to a d -
depthof 25
feet deep based on lithology and analytical data. The horizontal extent of MTBE has also been
defined to the north, south; and west at the site. However, it appears that the MTBE plume has
migrated east as evidenced by the soil and groundwater results (46 and 114 parts per billion
respectively) for well MW-12. Well MW-12 is located approximately 45-feet east of the source
area. It should be noted that the Rhodes domestic well is located an additional 15-feet east of
well MW-12 and contained no petroleum contamination, possibly providing horizontal definition
' of the MTBE plume to the east.
Apex recommends verifying the thirdquarter",groundwater analytical results during the fourth ,
x quarter monitoring scheduled for November. In addition,Apex will have completed the.
approved dual phase pilot test at the facility and the results of the pilot test are necessary to
determine a-remedial options for this site.
Y
X v 5
