KLEINFELDER
+ Lead,Chromium,Cadmium,Nickel,and Zinc
• PCB5
• Halogenated Volatile Organics
No volatile Manics by BPA Method 8410 or PCBs by E.PA, Method 8080 were detected at or
above labczratary reporting limits. Petroleum constituents and metals were detected in both
samples. The PHSfEHD has requested that B&B Equipment Company submit a workplan to
evaluate the lateral and vertical extent of contarninatiom This proposal has been develop to
address this request.
?RMSED SERVICES
Task 1 --Preifeld Activities
Based on the approval of the client, this scope of work (less the cost estimate and contract)will
be submitted to the San Joaquin County Public Health Services Department Environanentai
Health Division(PHSJEHD) for thein review and approval. Boring permits will be obtained prior
to conducting fieldwork. Please note the PHS/EM may charge B&B Equipment Cony
review and oversight ices. Review and oversight fees will be billed directly to the client.
Ovm-sight costs arc generally billed on a"time and materials"basis at a rate of$87/hour.
Underground Services Alert ([JSA) should be notified act least 48 hours prior to field activities.
USA requires the proposed subsurface exploration areas to be marked prior to contacting them,
Kleinfelder will assist with workplan approval as necessary, conduO job set-up activities and
coordinate field activities with a geoprobe subcontractor.
Task 2—Geo robe Sail Sampling
KfeinfeIder proposes to advance four shallow sail probes to approximately 16 feet below the
ground surface(bgs). One of probes will be advanced through the center of the farmer UST and
three will be advanced in a triangular pattern around the edges of the former UST at approximate
distances of 10 to 15 feet from, the former UST.
The exploratory soil probes will be advanced using a tmok mounted Geoprobe rig. The
Geoprobes will be advanced using a pneumatically and or hydraulically driven steel probe. Soil
samples will he obtained by inserting a sample barrel, lined with acetate Iiners, into the probe.
Soil samples will be continuously collected from the probes except during the fust four feet
where utilities are more likely to be encountered. Soil samples will be collected for potential
analyses at a minimum of four foot intwvals beginning at a depth of four feet and stopping at
approximately 16 feat bgs. Soil samples will be collected by cutting out the desired interval krona
a continuous core interval (successive 4 foot acetate liners) and sealing the ends with Teflon
sheeting and tight fitting plastic caps.
During the advancement of the probes, soil samples will be collected for lithologic classification
and qualitative field screening, with an organic vapor analyzer (OVA).
