Information of possible use of ground water in the area has been
requested previously. Such information should be provided in a
final report.
I understand that investigation of possible offsite migration onto
the adjacent boatel has beehi promised. This proposed investigation
should be documented in writing prior to final approval of the
plan of action.
SUMMARY
The proposal to mitigate the Lika Site to background soil
conditions is acceptable. Possible stumbling blocks to the
attainment of such a condition, including the potential need for
excavation beyond that already proposed inside the building, have
been noted. Additional comments relevant to the Lika Site have
also been made.
With respect to offering an alternative level of cleanup, I feel
that it is currently inappropriate to discuss mitigation to other
than "background. " I am under the impression that attainment of
such a condition is expected by the property owner who leased the
facility to Lika Corporation. To discuss other levels of
mitigation exceeding background may, at this time, create a
potential conflict between ourselves and other involved parties.
iJ
4I
ii
'I
I
