The remedial <br /> excavation work included conformation sampling of the floor and sidewalls of the <br /> excavation. <br /> 1.1 Site Deseription and History <br /> On October 21, 1992, SEMCO, under permit, removed two (2) underground fuel <br /> storage tanks from the DeBoer Trucking property. The tanks included one h 000- , <br /> gallon diesel tank, and one 8,000 allon diesel tank. The soil samples en <br /> ;.a A iese ts d i s c I o s en ra ions o petroleum hydrocarbon.in the diestil <br /> range. <br /> 4 <br /> 2.0 SCOPE OF WORD <br /> On January 15, 1993, SEMCO re-excavated the former underground tank facility tX at <br /> DeBoer Trucking. WIT screened the soil with a portable PID and logged the excavation. i <br /> Highly contaminated soils were encountered during the excavation and did not appeaY io r . <br /> decrease much with depth. The excavation was terminated at 25 feet in depth and samples <br /> were taken of the floor and sidewalls at 18 feet MM figure . <br /> The lateral limits of the excavation were forty feet from north to south and twelve feet <br /> from east to west:. Soil samples taken, for laboratory analysis, of the side walls and floor of <br /> the excavation had varying levels of diesel and BTX&E.(Table 1 & Appendix A). <br /> „ <br />
