those planned excavation reports to all participating members of USA who
may have underground facilities at the location of excavation. The USA
members will either mark or stake their facility, provide information or
give clearance to dig. In addition a copy of the bring plan will be supplied
to Mr. Phil Pennino, RTD's current designated project Manager to
coordinate with the current property owners for any utility clearance
issues prior to start of the filed operations.
6. PROPOSED SOIL AND GROUND WATER SAMPLING/FIELD OPERATIONS
TRE proposes to advance direct push Geo-probe in the following locations for this
reconnaissance soil and ground water sampling project (See Figure 2) as specified
below. Each boring will be advanced continuously collecting soil samples in acetate
liners using pre-cleaned drilling rods. The drill rods will be clean prior to arriving on site,
between each bore hole and before leaving the site. With respect to ground water. The
rods will be directly pushed approximately 40'-45' (TRE's review of historical site work in
neighboring properties indicate that ground water is reached at average depth of
between 35 feet to 45 feet bg) below grade (bg) or until it reaches ground water. The
direct push borings will be supervised and logged by a California Professional
Registered Geologist (PG) using the Unified Soil Classifications (USCS). Any unusual
odors, soil head space PID readings, and or visual signs of contamination associated
with each boring in its specific interval will be noted in the field logs. Soil samples
retained for chemical analysis will be cut from the acetate liner sealed with Teflon
paper/plastic end caps, and labeled with a unique field number. Appropriate chain of
custody form (CCF) shall be completed and each sample shall be entered into the CCF.
All samples shall be immediately placed in ice in a dedicated cooler in order to maintain
an approximate Temperature of 4C before it is transported to the designated laboratory:
Precision Environmental.Technology (PET) of Stockton, CA. Groundwater samples will
Page 9 of 27
