5. PROPOSED BORING LOCATIONS/SAMPLING RATIONAL AND
APPROACH
TRE employed the following criteria as guide for selecting the location of the proposed
Borings for this scope limited focused Phase II ESA:
• Approximate locations of the recognized environmental conditions (RECs) that
were identified in the findings of the Phase I ESA (see Figure 2)
• Regional and local historical/"legacy" type contamination (Delmonte and Disco
site: see Figure 2) patterns in and around the land parcels.
• Visual signs of surficial soil contamination and areas where poor housekeeping
practices were noticed and or visual evidence of releases of hazardous materials
were observed.
• It is TRE's understanding that RTD's real estate consultant project and project
manager are collectively in the process of securing site access for TRE to
conduct follow up site visits at the Sardee Corporation. Hence, this focused
Phase II ESA will not be conducting any site investigation at the Sardee
Corporation at this time.
5.1. BORING PERMITS AND UTILITY CLEARANCE
TRE shall complete a San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department Master
file application form (see Appendix F) along with a copy of this SAP workplan. In
addition, the permitting fee will also be paid to the SJCEHD in support of the boring
permit application.
Utility Services of Alert (USA: 811 / 1-800-227-2600) will be notified in advance of
the scheduled field operations. USA's purpose is to receive planned
excavation reports from public and private excavators and to transmit
Page 8 of 27
