i <br /> 11.3 EMERGENCY MEDICAL TREATMENT <br /> i <br /> • The SSC will assume charge during a medical emergency until the ambulance arrives, or the injured <br /> person is admitted to the emergency room. <br /> • Prevent further injury. <br /> • Initiate first aid and CPR. <br /> • Call the ambulance and hospital. <br /> • Determine if decontamination will make injury worse. Yes--seek medical treatment immediately. <br /> • Make certain that injured person is accompanied to emergency room. <br /> • Notify the Project Manager of the injury. <br /> • Notify the District Health and Safety Manager. <br /> • Notify the injured person's human resources department. <br /> • Prepare an incident report. Submit this to the Corporate Director Health and Safety (WDC) and <br /> Corporate Human Resources Department (DEN) and District Health and Safety Manager within 48 <br /> hours. <br /> r <br /> 11.4 EVACUATION <br /> E <br /> • Evacuation routes will be designated by SSC prior to beginning of work. <br /> • Onsite and offsite assembly points will be designated prior to beginning of work. <br /> • Personnel will exit the exclusion zone and assemble at the onsite assembly point upon hearing the <br /> emergency signal for evacuation of the exclusion zone. <br /> • Personnel will assemble at the offsite point upon hearing the emergency signal for a site evacuation. <br /> • The SSC and a "buddy" will remain onsite after the site has been evacuated (if possible)to assist local <br /> responders and advise them of the nature and location of the incident. <br /> • 'SSC accounts for all personnel in the onsite assembly zone. <br /> • A person designated by the SSC (prior to work)will account for personnel at the offsite assembly area. <br /> • The SSC is to write up the incident as soon as possible after it occurs, and submit a report to the <br /> Corporate Director Health and Safety and District Health and Safety Manager. <br /> i <br /> 11.5 EVACUATION ROUTES AND ASSEMBLY POINTS a <br /> On the event of an emergency, personnel will evacuate the area using an upwind or cross wind route, if <br /> not hazardous, and assembly at the predetermined location as identified by the SSC. <br /> 11.6 EVACUATION SIGNALS k <br /> Exclusion Zone Site <br /> Three blasts of a vehicle horn is the emergency signal to indicate that personnel should leave the <br /> exclusion zone. <br /> 22 <br /> SF0I001385F.WP5 <br /> t <br />
