Soon Kim, Principal Project Engineer with Del Monte Foods, we would like to respond to the two letters sent by your office on 10/26/94 and 11/17/94, by presenting the following•Work Plan Addendum to describe proposed remedial investigation work for the above referenced site. Since receiving your letters, we have been negotiating with drilling contractors in an attempt to identify the best way to locate up and down-gradient monitoring wells and perform pump testing. We have also been in the field installing the air sparging/soil vapor extraction(AS/SVE) system that is considered an interim remediation system designed to evaluate source removal of gasoline constituents as we have discussed at length in past J I: „=- meetings:, a = We submitted a Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study report (CH2M HILL, February 1992)that describes soil gas, soil boring, and groundwater monitoring results in the vicinity of the former underground storage tanks (USTs) and,gasoline dispensing island. That report recommends a remediation system that consists of AS/SVE for source removal combined with pump and treat technology to remove gasoline constituents from down-gradient groundwater. In the August 19, 1993 quarterly monitoring report, a Conceptual Remediation Plan is described.for installation and monitoring of the AS/SVE system.
