KLEINFELDER
4.4.2 MONITORING AND SAMPLING SCHEDULE DURING OPERATION
During operation, the pilot test system will be monitored frequently on the first day of operation
f. and then visited daily for the purposes of monitoring. Monitoring protocol will serve the
following objectives:
• determine the mass of ozone being injected
• determine location/dynamics of sparging influence
• assess the resiliency and effect of ozone on the nearby groundwater
i
• evaluate radius of influence of the ozone system
1 • determined the flow/pressure dynamics.of the sparge well
The following table summarizes the monitoring and sampling schedule for the pilot test system.
TABLE 4-3
MONITORING AND SAMPLING SCHEDULE
F
S stem Coin orient Parameter 1Vlethod Fri`uenc.
S are Well Pressure Fixed Pressure Gauge Hour the first day, then daily
Monitoring Well Total TPH,BTEX, Analytical Sample,EPA First and last day
MW-DIS-1 and 1,2 DCA Method 8260
Monitoring Wells pH Portable Meter Three times the first day then daily
(MW-DIS-1,AS/SVE-1, DO Portable Meter Three times the first day then daily
AS/SVE-2,NP-1,NP-2, Conductivity Portable Meter Three times the first day then daily
and MW-DIS-9) Temperature Portable Meter Three times the first day then daily
ORP Portable Meter Three times the first day then daily
Dissolved ozone Test Kit Twice the first day then daily
Gaseous ozone Ozone Meter Hourly the first day then daily
4.5 PILOT SYSTEM MAINTENANCE
All pilot test equipment will be operated and maintained according to manufacturer's
specifications. If problems or anomalies with system operations develop during operation that
cannot be expeditiously resolved by Kleinfelder personnel, a site visit by the manufacturer may
be required for maintenance, troubleshooting and/or repair. At least a 90% system uptime is
anticipated assuming uninterrupted electrical power is provided. In the event system malfunction
} results in downtime exceeding 10% of the proposed operating time, total test duration will be
extended proportionally.
}
12280/2002R476 Page 20 of 26
Copyright 2002 Kleinfelder,Inc.
