i.
KLEINFELDER
5 MONITORING RESULTS
r'
The depth to groundwater was measured in each monitoring well included in this event.
The depth to groundwater measurements were converted to MSL elevation to estimate
the groundwater gradient.
The eight groundwater samples were submitted under chain-of-custody procedures to
Sequoia Analytical Laboratories of Sacramento, California. Table 2 is a summary of the
analytical results for groundwater. The chain-of-custody forms and laboratory analytical
i reports are included in Appendix C.
5.1 WATER LEVELS
On dune 20, 2005, 20 monitoring wells and 3 piezometers were sounded for depth to
groundwater. The depth to groundwater ranged from 43.40 feet below the top of the
well casing (MW-DIS-11 s) to 52.64 feet below the top of the well casing (MW-DIS-15).
Groundwater elevations for the monitoring wells ranged from -32.09 feet MSL (MW-DIS-5
and MW-DIS-6) to -33.16 feet MSL (MW-DIS-13). The groundwater gradient was
estimated to be southeast and relatively flat, ranging from 0.0006 ft./ft. between MW-DIS-6,
MW-DIS-10, and MW-DISH to 0.0008 ft./ft between MW-DIS-10, MW-DIS-12, and MW-DIS-13.
Plate 3 shows the interpreted groundwater elevation contours. Table 2 presents the
recorded groundwater elevations on June 20, 2005 and past monitoring events.
5.2 ANALYTICAL METHODS AND REPORTED RANGES
Eight groundwater samples were collected and submitted for analysis. The following is
a list of the requested analyses and the reporting limits for groundwater samples
obtained from the monitoring wells this quarter;
• Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as gasoline
by EPA Method 8015M/8021 B [non-detect < 50 pg/1];
• Benzene by EPA Method 8015M/8021 B [non-detect < 0.50 lag/11;
Toluene by EPA Method 8015M/8021 B [non-detect < 0.50 pg/1];
• Ethylbenzene by EPA Method 8015M/8021 B [non-detect < 0.50 fag/11;
i • Xylene by EPA Method 8015M/8021 B [non-detect < 0.50 tag/1];
• 1,2-DCA by EPA Method 8260B [non-detect < 0.50 pg/I to 8 pg/11;
EDB by EPA Method 8260B [non-detect < 0.50 pg/1];
• TBA by EPA Method 8260B [non-detect < 5.0 tag/1];
MTBE by EPA Method 8260B [non-detect < 0.50 tag/1];
DIPE by EPA Method 8260B [non-detect < 0.50 pg/1];
12280.M0N/ST05R803/JZ:Iv Page 10 of 15
©2005, Kleinfeider, Inc.
