This section describes the project and the work to be performed under this <br /> Contract. Detailed requirements and the extent of work are stated in <br /> applicable Specification sections and shown on the Drawings. <br /> 1.2 ORGANIZATION AND INTERPRETATION OF CONTRACT DOCUMENTS <br /> A. Specifications and Drawings included in this document establish the <br /> performance, quality requirements, location, general arrangement, and <br /> minimum standards of workmanship for this project. <br /> B. Piping work shown on the Drawings is intended to be depictive and may <br /> j not be an exact and complete representation of the actual finished work. <br /> The Contractor must include fittings, supports, joints, and other accessories <br /> required to provide complete and satisfactory piping systems, as specified. <br /> 1 <br /> C. The layout of equipment shown on the Drawings is only a general <br /> representation. Actual layout of the equipment may vary. <br /> D. A part of the work that is necessary or required to make the installation <br /> satisfactory and operable for its intended purpose, even though not . <br /> specifically included in the Specifications or on the Drawings, shall be <br /> performed as incidental work as if it were described in the Specifications <br /> and shown on the Drawings. <br /> E. Bids supplied on behalf of the contractors must be to construct the system <br /> shown in these Specifications and Drawings. Alternatives will be accepted <br /> and considered during the bid review process only if the Contractor has also <br /> provided a bid for the work described in this document. <br /> 1.3 GENERAL <br /> A. The work included in this project involves supplying three package systems: <br /> (1) a soil vapor extraction system, (2) a groundwater sparging system, and <br /> (3) an internal combustion engine off-gas treatment system. It is expected <br /> that these systems will be skid- or trailer-mounted package systems with <br /> little field construction required. The first two packages may be combined <br /> into one skid-mounted package. <br /> I. B. The Contractor shall, except as otherwise specifically stated in the <br /> Specification sections, provide and pay for all equipment, labor, materials, <br /> tools, construction equipment, and facilities necessary for proper <br /> construction, testing, start-up, and operation of the vapor extraction and <br /> sparging systems. <br /> I <br /> BAE31604.AS.T 1 <br /> 01010 1 SUMMARY OF WORK <br />
