The vapor extraction system will be used to remove hydrocarbons (from a `
gasoline spill) from a silty sand to sandy silt soil at a depth of about 70 feet
below ground surface. It is expected that initial hydrocarbon concentrations
will be in the range of several thousand part per million.
B. The vapor extraction system will be operated in conjunction with a
groundwater sparging system and an internal combustion engine system for
off-gas treatment.
C. The vapor extraction system will be located outside in a fenced area and
placed on a concrete pad as shown on the Drawings.
2.2 MANUFACTURER
A. Remove entrained water from the extracted soil vapor with an
air/water separator.
3. Measure the flow, pressure, and temperature of the extracted soil
vapor at the locations shown on the Drawings.
4. Automatically shut down and alert the auto-dialer if:
a. Air/water separator liquid level is high.
b. Electrical power is lost. J
5. The vapor extraction system shall alert the auto-dialer but not shut {
down if the air/water separator is three-fourths full.
I
BAE31604.AS.T1
13001 3 VAPOR EXTRACTION SYSTEM
