The sparging blower and associated controls shall be of a positive <br /> displacement or centrifugal type. The motor and control system shall be <br /> suitable for a-potentially explosive atmosphere due to the presence of <br /> combustible gases. <br /> B. The frame and all piping must be constructed of carbon steel with a <br /> protective paint coating (primer and finish coats). The influent and effluent <br /> pipes shall have flanges. Valves shall be a ball type. All welds shall be <br /> ground smooth. The frame shall include a hook/pad eye for loading and <br /> unloading the skid-mounted unit. <br /> C. The system shall be supplied with vacuum and pressure relief valves as <br /> recommended by the blower manufacturer and an in-line influent filter as <br /> recommended by the blower manufacturer. <br /> D. Flow meters shall be provided at the locations shown on the Drawings. <br /> Flow meters shall be of the rotameter type with a range of 5 to 50 cubic <br /> feet per minute. The rotameter shall be compatible with blower discharge <br /> temperature. I <br /> E. Pressure gauges shall be provided at the locations shown on the Drawings. <br /> Pressure gauges shall be of the magnehelic type with a range of 5 to 25 psi. <br /> F. Power and. Controls: <br /> 1. The System Supplier shall be responsible for all wiring and controls <br /> internalto the vapor extractions stem. The Contractor shall provide <br /> power to the control panel y <br /> 2. All materials and workmanship shall meet the requirements of <br /> Division 16. <br /> 3. The control panel shall include: I <br /> a. HAND/OFF/AUTO switch for the sparging blower. I <br /> b. A timer with adjustments to run the sparging blower from 1 to <br /> 24 hours each day. <br /> C. An interlock to ensure that the sparging blower will not operate <br /> during failure or off cycle of the vapor extraction blower. <br /> PART 3 EXECUTION <br /> 3.1 INSTALLATION <br /> A.
