Functional testing of all equipment associated with the sparging <br /> system. <br /> f <br /> 1.6 COORDINATION WITH OTHER EQUIPMENT <br /> A. It shall be the Contractor's responsibility to design and install the sparging <br /> system so that it is in all ways compatible with the extraction system and <br /> the engine system. <br /> PART 2 ' PRODUCTS <br /> I <br /> 2.1 GENERAL <br /> I� <br /> A. The sparging system will be used to inject air about 15 feet below the <br /> groundwater surface for the purpose of volatilizing hydrocarbons from the <br /> groundwater and aerating the groundwater. <br /> B. The sparging sstem will be operated in con Junction with vapor extraction <br /> i system. <br /> C. The sparging system will be located outside in a fenced area and placed on <br /> a'concrete pad as shown on the Drawings. <br /> D. The,sparging system will be leased from the System Supplier for a period <br /> of 6 months with a month-to-month lease extension option thereafter for up <br /> to 12 additional months. <br /> 2.2 MANUFACTURER <br /> A. The sparging system specified herein shall be the responsibility of one <br /> System Supplier. Like items of equipment shall be the product of one <br /> manufacturer to achieve standardization of performance, operation, spare <br /> parts, and maintenance. The System Supplier shall be a specialist in this <br /> type of work and shall be responsible for fabrication, delivery, and <br /> verifying correct installation functional testing. <br /> 2.3 DESIGN CONDITIONS <br /> A. The sparging system shall be able to perform the following: <br /> 1. Inject 40 cfm of air at a pressure of 15 psig. <br /> 2. Automatically shut down the sparging blower if the discharge pressure <br /> of the vapor extraction blower is out of the operating pressure range <br /> (low or high). Pressure out of range indicates one of the following <br /> conditions: <br /> a. Extraction blower is not operating (low pressure due to failure <br /> or timer cycle), <br /> b. Both extraction blower and internal combustion engine are not <br /> operating (low pressure), or <br /> C.
