O. Box 388
Stockton, CA 95201-0388
Subject: Work Plan for Phase II Assessment at
Ramacher Mfg., Linden, CA
Dear Ms. Lagorio:
Attached is the proposed workplan for the Phase II investigation of the Ramacher
Manufacturing site in Linden, California. Please submit this package to an inspector
as soon as possible. The proposed scopes of work is intended to characterize soils
and groundwater and to obtain a preliminary estimate of volume of potentially
impacted soils. The workplan for this site is based on the reported or probable historic
and current activities.
Permitting and Coordination
Prior to conducting the field investigation, HSI will obtain permits for drilling from, and
coordinate grout inspections with San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division
(SJCEHD). USA will be notified to mark underground utilities in the street and on-site
underground utilities will be located and marked prior to commencement of field
activities.
HSI requests that this permit be issued as soon as possible, under overtime priority,
if necessary. HSI and FMC understand that special rates will be charge for this
service. Please assign quickly and call when assigned.
Field activities will be conducted according to HSI Standard Operating Procedures.
Soil gas samples will be field screened with a photoionization detector (PID). Soil gas
screening will be used to identify probable area of impact by volatile compounds. Soil
and/or groundwater samples will be collected from potentially impacted areas to
identify and characterize impacted material. If PID readings or visual evidence
indicates the presence of impacted material, additional soil gas, soil, and/or
groundwater samples will be collected to define the volume of impacted material.
Volume of oil-stained material will be estimated visually from staining on the ground
surface and in soil cores collected from selected locations at the site.
Soil and groundwater samples will be transported to a State certified analytical
laboratory within 24 hours of collection. Chain-of-custody protocol will be maintained
3035 Prospect Park Drive,Suite 40,Rancho Cordova,California 95670 Telephone(916)853-1800 Facsimile(916)853-1860
