J.`N
May 11;1992 Meeting Page 2
j' 2500 Navy Drive
{ On March 17, 1992 monitoring wells, MWl, MW2, and MW3 were sampled. Sample results did
not indicate contamination above the laboratory's detection limits. Monitoring well, MW4,was
i not located and is assumed that the well head was paved over. The COS has not been able to
j locate MW4 and continues to evaluate options.
' By late May 1992, a work plan to investigate the extent of soil contamination will be submitted to
j PHS/EHD.
1
j By the June 1992 quarterly sampling, MW4 should be located, and the work proposed in the May
work plan completed. Additionally, the stockpiled soil still on site, which was turned periodically
by the COS Municipal Utilities Department, will be located and sampled.
' By late July 1997- a summary report will be submitted which will include the results of quarterly
monitoring, soil investigation, and stockpile sampling.
Fontana DrivelSmith's Canal
' On February 23, 1992, the 5000 gallon diesel tank was removed. The 13 foot sample taken from
beneath the tank indicated 340 ppm diesel contamination.
• Monitoring wells MWl, MW2 and MW3 were sampled in March 1992 and results did not indicate
contamination above the laboratory's detection limits. However, MW4 had approximately 1.5 feet
of free product
' The free product standing in MW4 will be periodically bailed off and placed in DOT approved
drums. The product recovery rate will be measured to estimate free product volume.
' A copy of the destruction specifications for the facility well will be submitted to PHS/EHD.
' Quarterly sampling will occur in June 1992,with the resultant quarterly report to be submitted to
i. PHS/EHD by July 1992
