5'
i
Jim Escobar
Page 2
2. Monitoring wells at this site should be tested for fecal
coliform. The results of these tests can be included and
submitted with the Quarterly Reports.
3 . The abandoned underground diesel storage tank must be
removed (Section 25298 California Health and Safety
Code) . Removal must be done under permit from this
office. You may contact Pam Violett at (209) 468-3468 for
more information concerning closure of the tank.
4. The well on site is no longer in use and is in a state of
disrepair. It is also in the general downgradient
direction from the diesel tank and as such is a potential
conduit to a deeper aquifer. According to San Joaquin
County Ordinance Code Section 5-4000 et seq. , such wells
must be destroyed. Proper destruction must be carried
out under permit from this office. For more information
on the well destruction, you may contact Jerry Wicks at
(209) 468-3459.
This office would appreciate a timely response from the City of
Stockton concerning the above mentioned items. If there are any
questions or if more information is needed, contact Linda Turkatte,
EHS, at (209) 468-3442.
Jogi Khann M.D. , M.P.H.
Health cfer
I
aurie A.
