related activities there . <br /> The area immediately west of Banner Island is a vacant lot . <br /> It was a site of operations by Kyle & Co. , inc . , and later by <br /> Pittsburgh-DesMoines Steel Co. , steel fabrication businesses . <br /> The westerly portion of the area between Lindsay Street and <br /> the Deep Water Channel was the site of the former California <br /> Navigation & Improvement Co. shipyard. It was replaced by Kyle & <br /> Co. and then Pittsburgh-DesMoines Steel Co. In the 1970s, the <br /> Marina Towers office building was constructed. This office <br /> building is now abandoned and remains on the site, which is <br /> otherwise vacant and partially paved. <br /> The northerly portion of the block bounded by Lincoln, <br /> Fremont, Van Buren and Lindsay Streets is occupied by the Crystal <br /> Creamery. The southerly half of the block was the site of the <br /> former Western Pacific Railroad Station. It is now vacant . <br /> The lot bounded by Van Buren, Fremont, Monroe and Lindsay <br /> Streets' is the site of the former Chase Chevrolet Automobile <br /> Dealership (Chase West) . It is used as an automobile storage <br /> yard on the north side . The south side contains the B&B Body <br /> Shop and Paint Center. Prior to Chase Chevrolet, the area was <br /> the site of the Ruse Lumber Co. <br /> The block bounded by Monroe, Fremont, Madison and Lindsay <br /> Streets is the site of the former Chase Chevrolet Automobile <br /> Storage/Repair (Chase East) . It presently contains buildings <br /> occupied by an auto wheel service, private ambulance service, <br /> roofing material storage and two auto repair garages . Former <br /> businesses on the property include the California Plating Works, <br /> the Western States Electric Co. , Telephone Co. Supply Warehouse, <br /> Neon Sign Manufacturing, a dyeing and cleaning business, and a <br /> dry cleaning. <br /> III . <br /> AGREEMENT <br /> 3 . 0 IT IS HEREBY AGREED THAT DTSC will provide review and <br /> oversight of the response activities conducted by the Agency in <br /> accordance with the Scope of Work contained in Exhibit C. The <br /> Agency shall conduct the activities in the manner specified <br /> herein and in accordance with the schedule specified in Exhibit <br /> E. All work shall be performed consistent with H&SC section <br /> 25300 et seq. , as amended; the National Contingency Plan (40 Code <br /> of Federal Regulations ( "CFR " ) Part 300) , as amended; U.S. EPA <br /> and DTSC Superfund guidance documents regarding site <br /> investigation and remediation. <br /> 3 . 1 4 o8P of Work and DTSC Oversight . DTSC shall review <br /> and provide the Agency with written comments on all Agency <br /> deliverables as described in Exhibit C (Scope of Work) and other <br /> documents applicable to the scope of the project . DTSC shall <br /> provide oversight of field activities, including sampling and <br /> removal and/or remedial activities, as appropriate . Pursuant to <br /> 3 <br />
