A copy of this report has been forwarded <br /> to the Central. Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board , <br /> The San Joaquin Local Health District has no objection to the recommendation that <br /> further .excavation of contaminated soil be performed and the hole. backfilled provided <br /> the following are accomplished : <br /> 1 . A written commitment to proceed with further site assessment and any remedial <br /> action necessary to clean up the contamination identified shall be submitted <br /> within 30 days or prior to backfilling the excavation . <br /> 2 . If the excavation is backfilled prior to fulI definition of the vertical and <br /> horizontal extent of contamination , you should be aware that re-excavation and/ <br /> or further excavation may be necessary as part of the remedial action . <br /> 3 . A site assessment plan shall be submitted within 30 days of the date of this <br /> letter , and should include a proposal to install additional monitoring wells <br /> to define the lateral extent of groundwater/ soil contamination and the local <br /> groundwater gradient .
